1. Open VLC Media Player and play the video file you want to trim.
2. Pause at the point from where you want to start the trimming.
3. Then click the View tab from the top menu and click the Advanced Controls option to enable the controls.
4. It will bring up the Advanced Controls bar at the bottom-left corner of the VLC interface. Click on the Record button and then click the Play button to start the trimming process.
5. Move it frame by frame or reach the ending point where you want to stop. Then hit the record button again to save the trim video.
6. The trimmed video will be saved in your default videos folder. If you want to change the default videos folder on VLC Media Player, Go to Tools> Preferences > Input/Codecs.
7. Then next to Record Directory or Filename, you’ll see the path to VLC’s default recording directory. If you want, you can change it by clicking on the Browse button and selecting the location.
