Apple Music is a well-known streaming service that provides access to millions of songs, playlists, and curated content, all accessible on various devices. Although Apple Music is mainly linked to Apple products such as iPhones, iPads, and Macs, you can also use it on non-Apple devices, including Chromebooks.
If you’re a Chromebook user and want to install and enjoy Apple Music, you can do so. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to install and use Apple Music on your Chromebook.
Install Apple Music on Chromebook
If your Chromebook is compatible with the Google Play Store, you can download the Android version of Apple Music. If it isn’t, you still have the option to install the PWA version of Apple Music.
To begin, open your Google Chrome browser. Then, go to music.apple.com. Once the Apple Music webpage is open, you’ll need to install it as a shortcut on your Chromebook.
Here’s how:
1. Open the Google Chrome browser and visit music.apple.com.
2. Click on the three-dot icon in the upper-right corner of your Chrome browser.
3. Select Save and Share from the dropdown menu.
4. Then, click Create Shortcut.
5. A pop-up window will appear asking you to name your shortcut. You can leave it as Apple Music or come up with a name that works best for you.
6. Check the box labeled Open as a Window and click on Create.
This ensures that Apple Music opens in a standalone window, just like a regular app.
For quick access to Apple Music, you can pin the shortcut to your Chromebook’s shelf. Simply right-click on the Apple Music icon that now appears on your Chromebook shelf and click Pin to Shelf.
Now, you can easily open Apple Music anytime with a single click. If you prefer to access Apple Music through the App Launcher, simply click on the App Launcher icon. Scroll through the apps until you find the Apple Music logo, click on it, and you’re ready to enjoy your music.
