With the latest release of macOS Sequoia, Apple has announced Apple Intelligence. It is an AI-based feature integrated with macOS and Apple Siri, powered by ChatGPT from OpenAI. It helps you write, create images, express yourself, and get things done effortlessly.
However, Apple Intelligence is currently in beta and only available in US English. Therefore, you might not have the option to enable and use Apple Intelligence on your Mac if you are living outside the United States. But if you are an Apple fan like me and want to use it right away or have questions about how to get Apple Intelligence outside the USA, you are in the right place.
In this guide, we will discuss how to fix the issue of Apple Intelligence not showing on macOS and how to enable Apple Intelligence on your Mac.
Fix Apple Intelligence Not Showing on Mac
If you want to use Apple Intelligence outside the USA, follow these steps, and you can easily enable it on your Mac.
I live outside the USA, and I followed these steps, and it worked 100% for me here in India. The best part about this hack is that you don’t need any third-party tools, you just need to change the location and language to US English, and you’re good to go with Apple Intelligence. However, there is a catch.
1. Ensure Your macOS is Updated
Apple Intelligence is now available on the latest version of macOS Sequoia. Before you get started, make sure your Mac is running macOS version 15.1 or later. Keeping your Mac updated is crucial, as updates not only bring exciting new features like Apple Intelligence but also include important bug fixes and performance enhancements to ensure a smoother experience.
To check and update your macOS:
1. Open System Settings.
2. Click on General and select Software Update.
3. If an update is available, click Update Now to install macOS version 15.1
4. Once updated, restart your device to apply the changes.
2. Change Region Settings
As we know, Apple Intelligence is currently available in US English. To use it, you’ll need to change the region settings to the United States. This step is crucial, as Apple Intelligence relies on location-based settings, and it may not be available if your region is set to another country.
Once your macOS is updated, follow these steps to change the region:
1. Go to System Settings and click on General.
2. Scroll down and select Language & Region.
3. From the Region drop-down menu, choose United States.
4. Click on the Change to English (US) option.
5. After that, restart your Mac to apply the new region settings.
3. Change Apple Intelligence & Siri Lanaguage
Since Apple Intelligence is deeply integrated with your Mac apps and Siri, it’s important to ensure that both your system language and Siri settings align. Now that your region is set to the United States and your system language is set to English, you’ll also need to configure Siri’s language to English (United States) for everything to work seamlessly.
1. Go back to System Settings.
2. Click on Apple Intelligence & Siri.
3. In the drop-down menu for Language, select English (United States).
4. Apply the changes and restart your system.
4. Join the Apple Intelligence Waitlist
Once you’ve selected your region, language, and restarted your Mac, you’re almost there. Now you’re ready to enable Apple Intelligence. However, since it’s still in beta, you’ll need to join the Apple Intelligence waitlist to gain access and enable it on your device.
1. Open System Settings again.
2. Navigate to Apple Intelligence & Siri.
3. You should see a Join Apple Intelligence Waitlist option. Click on it.
4. Restart your system once more and wait for a few minutes. You should receive a notification prompting you to turn on Apple Intelligence. Alternatively, you can manually turn it on by going to System Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri.
5. Clicking on the Turn On Apple Intelligence option.
6. Clicking Continue and following the setup instructions.
7. Once done, click Continue.
8. Turn on the toggle for Apple Intelligence.
Conclusion
That’s it! You’ve successfully enabled Apple Intelligence on your macOS, even if you live outside the USA, and the issue with the missing Apple Intelligence option if fixed.
As Apple Intelligence evolves, you can expect new features to roll out in future software updates. Stay tuned for enhancements and expanded capabilities. Additionally, Apple will support more languages and region settings over time, making Apple Intelligence accessible to even more users around the world.
