Hello everyone, M here! In today’s tutorial, I’ll guide you through the steps to add multiple clocks to your Windows 11 computer, so you can keep track of different time zones. Whether you’re working with international teams or need to check the time in multiple locations, adding multiple clocks can make your life a lot easier.
Although Windows 11 doesn’t allow you to display multiple clocks directly in the taskbar, you can still view different time zones using either the Legacy Control Panel or the Clock app. Let me show you both options!
Option 1: Add Multiple Clocks Using the Legacy Control Panel
- Open Settings: Click the Start button and type “Settings” in the search bar. Open the Settings app.
- Navigate to Date and Time Settings: In the Settings window, click on Time & Language, then select Date & Time from the options on the left.
- Access Additional Clocks: Scroll down and click on Additional Clocks. This will open up the Legacy Control Panel for time and date settings, which hasn’t yet been modernized in Windows 11.
- Add the First Clock: You can add up to two additional clocks. First, click on Show Clock 1 and select the time zone you want to add (for example, Hawaii). You can name this clock anything you like (e.g., “Hawaii Time”). Afterward, click Apply to add it.
- Enable the Clock: If the clock is hidden, enable it by clicking on the Time and Date section in the taskbar. You’ll now see your new clock listed.
- Add a Second Clock: If you want to add another clock, check the option for Show Clock 2, select a different time zone (e.g., Greenland), give it a name, and click Apply and OK. Now, when you click the Time and Date area, you’ll see both clocks.
- View Multiple Clocks: Instead of clicking on the Time and Date area, you can simply hover over it to view your additional clocks in a tooltip.
If you ever want to remove the clocks, simply return to the Legacy Settings, uncheck the clocks, and click Apply to remove them.
Option 2: Add Multiple Clocks Using the Clock App
If you’re looking for more flexibility or want to add more than two clocks, the Clock app is a great option.
- Open the Clock App: Click the Start button, type “Clock” in the search bar, and open the Clock app.
- Navigate to the World Clock: Once the app is open, go to the World Clock page, where you can manage time zones around the world.
- Add a City: To add a clock for a new location, click on the Add New City button. In the search bar, type the name of the city or location (e.g., Barcelona), select it, and click Add. The clock will now appear in the app.
- Add More Cities: Repeat the process to add more clocks—up to as many as you need. For example, you can add clocks for Tokyo, New York, and London to stay on top of multiple time zones.
- Compare Time Zones: You can also use the Compare button to view how the times in different cities compare. This feature is especially useful for scheduling meetings across time zones.
- Pin Clocks to Start: If you want quick access to your clocks, you can right-click a clock and select Pin to Start. This will add the clock to your Start Menu, where you can open the Clock app directly from there.
- Remove a Clock: If you no longer need a clock, simply click on the clock in the app, click Edit, and then click the Delete button.
Additional Tips for the Clock App
- You can also use the Date and Time options to compare times on different dates.
- Pinning clocks to the Start Menu will show only the clock app itself, not the actual time. Clicking on the pinned clock will open the World Clock page, where you can see all the clocks you’ve added.
Conclusion
There you have it! Whether you prefer using the Legacy Control Panel for two additional clocks or the more flexible Clock app to manage multiple time zones, both options are simple and effective. While Windows 11 doesn’t show multiple clocks in the taskbar simultaneously, these methods will help you keep track of different time zones with ease.
